The Glen site of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is one of North America’s largest and most modern healthcare centres. The building boasts 12,500 rooms, houses four hospitals and spans over five city blocks. Yearly, it receives over 700,000 patients and visitors and 7,500 employees continually ensure its smooth operation. To complement and help all users navigate this large-scale and state-of-the-art facility, an effective mobile application was built.
Finding your way can be a challenge faced by visitors and staff members in large facilities with complex infrastructures such as the MUHC’s Glen site. To solve this issue, Soluteo’s team created a mobile application that requires no internet connectivity. Presented as an interactive platform that serves as an indoor navigator, the app invites users to first locate themselves and then offers a detailed path to their destination. Other features include: accessing important hospital services, patient education information, submitting feedback, making a donation and connecting to social media.
