The task was to build a mobile solution for the on train and station operations automation. Our mobile solution allows Via Rail’s onboard VIA staff to offer a better customer service to over 4 million clients annually.
The solution allows all the train agents to fulfill their activities from the single application. The Soluteo middleware aggregates information from several data sources into one application: Passenger Manifest, Train Consist, Train Schedule, Sharepoint, Employee & Crew information, Alerts & Notifications. The solution was built to manage seamlessly and transparently any gain or loss of connectivity, which makes it a smart application that we like to call “auto-magic”. This feature ensures that the onboard VIA crew can rely 100% on the application without having to worry about connection and transmission of information. The application includes a manifest of the onboard passengers in real-time, and train status information. It also includes safety standards, Communication enhancement between onboard Via Rail employees and other Via Rail departments, as well as processing of e-tickets.
